Wow. Got some reading to do. Thats wonderful.
I found the problem with the CJ. It was the ignition module that went bad. So I rode the bike and picked up new one and just finished up. Purrs like a kitten again. ![]()

Looked under her today and found the front trackbar end is sloppy, and the front UCA is loose on the frame end. Might be the cause of some of the wandering lately.
Decided to replace my steering box. Gonna order it tomorrow. Took the hi-lift jack and mount off. Removed carpet. Drove the CJ today since the above happened to the TJ. Then come home to find that the CJ tire carrier is almost ready to fall off. WTH!!!!! All in one day.....

Stopped at the junkyard picked up a new project for the TJ. Started working on it today and its coming along really well. AN 8.8"!!!!!

Thanks! The axle tubes are ready for the brackets to be welded on but I still need to do some more wire wheeling on the pumpkin. I can't wait to get everthing welded up and through the first coat of paint on it.
Hopefully due to this upgrade, I plan to head up to 35" tires next time I buy tires...which will be soon. ![]()

Pulled the axle shafts on the 8.8. 31 splined as I expected...man are they huge. Basically an 9" axle shaft with different bearing seat at the end. Everything looks good inside and I started pulling the brake shoes and backing plates. Guess I will replace the axle seals while I have everything apart. Got alot of studying to do this weekend so the work on the axle will slow down......
