Today I got the brake lines hooked back up and bled. Had to switch the axle lines to the opposite sides due to the cherokee frame lines exit from a different location than the CJ did. Hopefully this evening I can get the Jeep turned around so I can start pulling the front axle.

If it were up to me I'd be burning some metal right now, but instead I'm watching Sesame Street with my boy.

Guess now it can offically be a 1 ton XJ I had to change my orignal plan of attack as some of my orginal measurements were off. After some remeasuring and planing I got it figured out, I think lol. I'll get some better pics and show what I'm going to do later.

Now I need to decide if I want to fab up my own 3 link and save some cash or buy the Clayton or Poly Performance kit and save time

Orignal Chevy brackets cut off

No more Dana Turdy

Ballistic brackets tacked on

Sittin on factory springs and 33s all the way around. And yes I know that the driver side is sticking waaay out. It was hot, I was tired and after all my hard work of centering the axle I set it down on it's on weight, forgot I had no trac bar and the body shifted to the pass side

Why not use a ford axle so the pumpkin is on the drivers side? Plan to go Dana 300?

Cause I like to be different, but mainly cause I already had the Chevy. Yes Dana 300 but maybe a 231/300 doubler.

Haven't had to much time to work on the Jeep lately. Have next weekend off but were going camping, I may end up burning some vacation time to get some work done. Today I cut some pipe and made some spring retainers. My plan was to pull the 4.5" springs out of my LJ and put them in the XJ to get and idea on tire clearance so I can order some springs, but I got busy and only had time to make these. Once I get eveything fitted I'll cap them off.

Id make a bigger plate to weld to the tabs on the axle. Gusset it under the side that sits over the housing also. I wouldnt be to comfortable with that as a final design. Unless thats just a temp thing to use just to figure out ride height? Either way i cant wait to see this beast done!

I am going to gusset it better once I make sure eveything is going to fit right. I knew the top plates were going to be offset a little , but somehow my measurements got screwed up and thats how the top plates ended up. Hopefully it will all work out in the end.
