06 X Wrangler in Impact Orange

OK so this is a side topic to start with, but since I'm doing all the work on it I wanted to show my mother 06 Wrangler X in Impact Orange. So far there isnt much to it but I'm building it up for her because over the last few years she's had a plate put in her neck after a car wreck we were in some years ago and then last year she overcame breast cancer. So as much as she'd love to trick out her Jeep it's a bit beyond her strength. Obviously her's is the Impact Orange one

The hard top is a two piece from pavement ends that was for a YJ but I got a hellof a deal on it and modified it to fit a TJ

I just ordered a full front and rear tube bumper and side step combo from collins bros on ebay, plus a the liscense plate adapter and her birthday is on the 13th so hopefully they will get here and I can put em on and they will be a Mother's Day/ B-Day present:

BTW Collins bros rocks for anybody browsing for Jeep stuff.

The hood decal I installed on there is from a company called decal driveway and they make decals that can be wet applied which works awesome, Im on my third one and theyve lasted through years of car washes. I highly recommend em if you like going with decals, plus they got tons of tribal hood decals.

Other than that after getting the infamous death wobble that Mopar officially denies has anything to do with their products, I upgraded her steering to a teraflex track bar, skyjacker steering stabilizer, daystar coil spacers and bumpstops, and then took it to Meineke and had em install cam caster bolt brackets for a more precise alignment. Next is the rear trackbar and one of these days Im gonna get her bigger tires and rims.

Just the other week I threw the half doors and soft up for trade on here and craiglist and much to my shock we found a local guy with an 05 in Impact Orange who was ecstatic to trade off his full doors so he could get a new soft for his and now have the half doors since he wheels alot and likes doors off. What a fortuitous thing that was. Thanks Juustin. Worked out great for both parties and as you can see the doors make it look like it came that way from the factory.
She's already eyeing my RB1 radio so I guess I'll have to add that to the wish list

It'll probably never be more than a mallcrawler but with her injuries, Im stoked just to get it to where she feels respected pulling up next to other Jeeps. What can I say "Its a Jeep thing"

The mounting holes for the rear have to be redrilled cause the YJ and TJ use different mounting spots, but the tubs are almost identical. The windhsield frame mounting on the hard top had to be ground down to match the top of the windshield on a TJ and then I installed footman loops and latches, that was it.

It is too expensive to be a vendor on JF now with the price hikes. So much for supporting the forum I started on.

I like that color, too. It'd soak up the scratches nicely without showing them, lol. What's with the Hi-Lift on the mallcrawler?

It originally was going to go on my YJ but I sold it and when I got my LJ I bought a new one, and the old hi lift went on her Jeep. Read what I wrote, aint like she's goin to use it anyways, just looks cool

Soon as I get the brackets its going inside on the rear rollbar anyways, the 4xrack is a waste of money. Live and learn. Besides the OEM jack kit they put under the passenger seat sucks.

Found me a good deal on some used Moabs and Wrangler MTR's today so I decided to be nice to my mother and set her up with a set of em. Here is a before and after pic, btw its got a 2" skyjacker BB if anyone is trying to gauge height and they are 245/75/16 which is actually just shy of 31" tires just in case someone is looking to see what theirs might look like if they upped the size on their stockers:

Also forgot to add in the last post that I got a black aluminum gas hatch cover from a fellow jeepforum member and with a few coats of Krylon gloss black it turned out looking pretty nice and all for under 30 bucks:
