I am finally getting around to starting my projects on the LJ. I have already blacked out my headlight bezels and gotten a 2012 Rubicon's original rims and tires. I've been driving it around stock ride height with 32's. It doesn't grind on turns but any bumps and the flares get eaten by the tires! I am at tech school right now and my mom and fiance are driving my Jeep to me tomorrow! While its here, I am going to be installing a 4" RC short arm x series! The trip for them is around 1400 miles from MD to TX! Does anyone know how long it will roughly take me to install the lift? I am putting it on a full mechanics lift but I will only have maybe one or two helpers. I have access to all the tools I need. (I think). Any recommendations and/or tips would be greatly appriciated! I have never done anything suspension wise so I am a bit nervous. How difficult is the lift? Thanks!
Here is the Jeep with the bezels missing for painting Attachment 461880
And here is it with the 32's Attachment 461882

Nice platform, but why did you get a rough country ?

Thanks! I was told it was the best bang for the buck. I am on an Air Force Enlisted budget, so a full short arm from anyone else seemed wayyyyy too expensive. What would you suggest?

ah ok I hear ya, I would look at the Rubicon Express super flex short arm kit. I am very pleased with my lift.

I actually wanted the RE Lift, but I couldn't afford the price tag. It looks like a great lift though! If I ever go 6", I am probably gonna go with RE.

Welcome to the Air Force! What's your AFSC?
I've been in the Guard for almost 11 years, but I've got about 6 of that serving Active Duty. I'm a Crew Chief on 16's, but I'm leaving in September to learn to fly them. (Things work a little different on the Guard side)
Nice looking ride, by the way! I love seeing a nice LJ, and look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Thanks! I am a Crew Chief on the A10's! I am hoping to do the same thing as you! I am a Pilot for a hobby right now! After your training, do you know where you will be? Andrews is close and has the 16!

I'll be based out of Toledo, Ohio. One of the perks of being Guard is that I get to stay close to home when I'm not deployed. The A-10 is a BAD machine! I always thought, if it wasn't going to be 16's, I'd want to fly the A-10!
I've been flying for a while too now. I've got my commercial, multi-engine land. Jeeps and airplanes... expensive hobbies... haha.

Oh okay! I am in the MD ANG in Baltimore, MD. Its an awesome plane so far! I hope it will be cool to fly aswell. I have my PP and I am working on IFR and Commercial. I need to take my Multi, I just haven't found an examiner for the twin I fly. (Beech 18) Jeeps and Airplanes are very expensive but alot of fun and the people I have met are the best along the way!

After the Lift!
Here it is after putting the lift on. It took minutes to get to the trail after the lift. :2thumbsup: Then after, I washed it, clay barred it, and waxed it!

So its been a while since I've been able to post on here. I haven't had pictures! So since the last time I updated this, I have chagned...ALOT! The ride with the RC shocks and coils was horrible! I couldn't take it anymore so I removed the shocks, to find out they were all bad..(I was very unhappy). After replacing them with Bilstein 5100's, I decided I still wasn't too excited with the ride so I upgrade to AEV Nth Degree 4.5" Progressive Rate Coils, made specifically for the LJ. The ride now, is an absolute dream! Between the upgrades I started to get a bad death wobble. It turned out my RC sway bar disconnects were bad too(Allowing the axle to rock back and forth) and my RC track bar wasn't adjustable enough to center the axle. So JKS here I came! What a difference! The new coils lifted my Jeep alot more than I expected so I am waiting to buy 35's instead of 33's. I can't wait! Now for some pictures..
