I planned on it but then I shined up the top and like it a lot more. It's way easier than painting!! I kind of like how it looks and I haven't seen anyone with the color combo in my area.

Maguires scratch x. It is really good at removing oxidation and scratches. It didnt take very long at all to do the whole top. And since it isn't a coating it doesn't have to be reapplied over and over again. You know, unless some branches scratch it... Haha

Hey guys I'm trying to put my ucf ultra skid on but I've run into a problem! The lopro mount is hitting the transfer case before I can get the mounts holes lined up. I've included pictures, the best I could get, I just can't figure it out!! Please help!! I've looked everywhere and no one else seems to have this problem.

Well I gave up on the lopro mount. The holes were just too far off to even slot. So I got it all together with the stock trans mount. I have slight vibes but I'm trying to get the pinion angle correct. What you guys think?!

Hey guys, been gone for awhile doing the military thing. I've been wheeling the past couple years with this setup and I'm finally putting gears and a front locker in. I'll try to detail the other things I did these past couple years. I've had some great times wheeling with my jeep and I'm planning on going to moab this year if I can find a group to go with. I'll be posting later today with a lot more info and pictures on things I've done with the Jeep the past couple years!

OK, so I'll try to start in order of everything that has happened. I have taken the Jeep out a lot over the years and it has been great! No real issues minus the rebuilt trans.... And cutting the sidewall of a tire. I even put the Jeep on its side and with the metal cloaks I sustained no damage! Just flipped it over and drove off!

I'll start with the trans issue. When I had bought the Jeep from a dealer and the transmission had a high pitch wine. They agreed to fix the issue if I bought it. They had it for about a month till they decided to put in a new unit.
Well it turns out the "new unit" had a loose bolt in it that, when I was at an off road Park a year later, decided to Lodge itself in between the gears and the case... Well the case lost and fluid came pouring out... And a horrible noise when I tried to drive. I got pulled out of the trail and pulled an hour home. When I got home I pulled the belly skid off and immediately saw the problem.

So I took out the trans and took it up to my local trans shop to tear into it and see if it could be saved.

They ended up putting in some new internals that had been messed up from the loose bolt. They gave it back to me with the whole still in the case. Luckily I had the missing piece that had been broken from the case and I welded it back together.

Not thr prettiest but it holds fluid! And that's all that matters. I put it back in and it was good as new!

After a few more excursions I was going up a rock trail when my sidewall got a little too friendly with a sharp rock ledge. Thankfully I had a full spare and a high lift jack. In less then ten min I was back on the trail... Although I was down a spare tire. When I got back I ordered a new tire and threw that one away, oh well!!

A while later I was doing some wheeling and heard a loud pop. Then I could feel my shifter moving everytime I got on the gas. I drove it off the trail easy and eased it home. I took off the belly skid and saw what used to be the transmission mount.

I found the old lo pro mount I gave up on a year prior and decided to try and mount it up. With some massaging I finally got it installed. I don't have any picture of it but it did work and it puts the trans really close to the skid.

I finally got tired of having driveline vibes even after the lopro mount and fully adjustable control arms so I installed the sye with driveshaft built locally.

I also took this time to install a Novak cable shifter since I was having trouble getting the transfer case into 4lo. It was very easy and made shifts like butter, I was actually pretty upset I had dealt with the junk stock shifter for so long.

After a few years the old rattle can paint I put on the metalcloaks started to chip and peel off. It started to have terrible looking surface rust that you can see in the transmission picture. Needless to say it was embarrassing. I decided one day that I would take them off and have them powder coated. I mean, they are bolted on, so why not. Well back when I installed them I didn't put anti sieze on any of the bolts... And I paid for it that day. None of the bolts would come loose and I ended up stripping most of the bolts or breaking them. I ordered a new bolt kit from metal cloak and when I reinstalled them, I made sure to anti sieze them!

Taking them to powder coat!

All back together, good as new!

Also, if you look in the above picture you will see the 12" Cree led light I bolted to the front of the winch. It fit perfectly and puts off a crazy amount of light. For the price it can't be beat!
I am getting the 4.88 gears, front locker, and riddler differential covers put on as we speak. I will take some pictures if I can! I'll also let you know how they work.

Back when I ordered wheels I was told to get 4.5 back spacing.... Well, let's just say for the past few years my turning radius had.... Suffered.... So I just order some 1 inch hub centric wheel spacer on flea Bay for $75! It'll bring my back spacing to 3.5 and maybe I won't rub on my control arms and sway bar at half turn!
