Price: $5.00 Pros: I only paid for the bolts used to attach it to my roof Cons: I used cheap paint and now the bars a rusting a bit Recommended? Yes
Comments: My Cherokee did not come with the crossbars, so I decided to weld some up. I knew a local teacher in a vocational school and he let me use the mig welder and some scrap stock. I used 2" angle welded to either end of 2" square tube stock. after 16 welds and some grinding I was done. To mount it I took some 1" bar stock and cut 2.5" - 3" sections and tapped them for 3/8" bolts. I used those bars and the bolts as a makeshift clamp to hold the bars onto my roof. I used rustoleum paint to coat it. After proper prep and priming it still chips off. The only thing I would do differently is to use a better paint.

Price: $1,800.00 Pros: Best out there. Lot's or room and extras. Strong. Cons: If you live in the woods, do not use the mounts that put the stuff on the outer edge. They will get hit and bend, ect. Also, cost a lot of money! Recommended? Yes
Comments: They did not have the option for it, but this is the Gobi rack for the Jeep XJ. It is the most expensive, but I will say it is 100% worth it. I have hit trees with it and stuff, and nothing it wrong with it. Has a tone of room, and looks sick. I got all the extras with the Highlift jack mount, axe & shovel mount, and jerry can mounts. I ended up breaking the high lift mount because it got hung up on a tree. Has spots for 6 lights on it.

Comments: Sunroof, 10 years no leaks.
Window is manually removeable, pulled from some car. about 3x2 feet, round edges, black trim.
Helps with light a lot.
I used a sawzall. The hard top fibreglass makes a mess.
