These external door lockers provide theft protection for otherwise vulnerable Jeep hard doors. The door lockers function to prevent doors from being lifted off. The locks allow the owner to unlock and remove doors.

Comments: Added insurance to make sure no one steals my full or half doors. Easy installation as long as you have small hands. Those nuts under the dash are a pain.

Tuffy Security Door Keeper Lock Set for 76-95 Jeep Wrangler & CJ

Pros: Relatively easy to install
Cons: Not a 100% bolt on
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Even though they say "No drilling required." I found that I had to drill anyhow, at the least to take out the old bolts. Even when I torqued the heck out of the lock it could still be spun to get the lock out of the way of the hinge if you just hit it hard enough. I also found that getting the key in to turn it with a bonnet head bolt or any other bolt that sat proud of the surface left me coming close to or brushing the head of the bolt with the key, and could block the key being removed depending on the position it was in, open on one side and closed on the other.

My solution for the key issue was to use a machine screw (1 inch long by 5/16th, 18tpi) and to countersink it so it was flush.

The "spin" issue was countered by drilling a hole a little below the lock itself to accomodate a 1/4 inch machine screw and to countersink that too. (1 inch long by 1/4, 20tpi)

The third image to the right has a little grey mark which indicates the approximate position of the bolt I added to address the "spin" issue.
