Scratched plastic windows are the first signs of wear on a Soft Top. Simply rolling up the rear window is enough to leave marks. By using a few simple techniques, along with all three polishes, you can actually add life to plastic and keep it looking new.
Plastic Clean & Shine cleans all plastics without scratching. It leaves a shine that resists fogging, repels dust, and eliminates static.
The Fine Scratch Remover eliminates fine scratches, haziness and abrasions. With repeated use, it restores faded and discolored plastics, heals the damage, and buffs out quickly.
The Heavy Scratch Remover takes heavy scratches and abrasions from most acrylic surfaces. Use when damage is too severe to be restored with the Fine Scratch Remover. It requires the use of Novus No. 2 for final finishing (not recommended for use on coated plastics).
Price: $18.00 Pros: Easy to use. Amazingly effective. Cons: Messy, but no more so than regular car wax Recommended? Yes
Comments: I bought my Jeep with the windows scratched all to hell. The previous owner used to keep his dog in the back, and the side and rear windows showed it. Before I bought a new soft top just to get windows you could see through, someone at jeepforum recommended this three stage kit from Novus.
Stage one is kind of like windex, but it seems to repel dust as well as remove dirt. Stage two is the fine scratch remover. It goes on like a thin wax and buffs off. Stage three is a thicker version of stage two, for deeper scratches.
All three stages work flawlessly. I replaced the driver's upper door skin a couple months ago (the zipper was broken) and my other windows now look only slightly more worn than the new one, as opposed to before when you could only really see through the new one. Especially at night.
I highly recommend this product. It's the best $17 I ever spent.
