I bought this for Christmas. Due to the weather I was just able to get it installed this week. I "You Tubed" an install video and was able to get it done in under an hour.
Great value for the price. Easy install.
Comments: I wouldn't buy this top at any price. It came on the used '03 TJ I bought. Just replaced it with a Bestop Sailcloth top. I realize the price difference is quite a bit, but the Bestop is worth every penny. This top was incredibly loud at speeds over about 35 mph. Almost deafening. The Bestop in comparison is much, much quieter. Bestop all the way.
Price: $240.00 Pros: Worked for the price... Cons: Really flimsy stitching. Difficult to get one the Jeep Recommended? No
Comments: Have a spice colored replace a top on my 97 TJ. When i got my jeep a year ago, it was working 100% and it looked slightly newer. assuming the P/O had it on for maybe a couple months. after about a month of use one of the straps that held up the rear window when its rolled up broke, the button fell out. then after the winter i started taking it on and off a lot and after the use the two clips above the drivers head that hold onto the door frames ripped off then the drivers side widow started tearing off. same happened recently to the passenger side. Bottom line i don't suggest buying this top, maybe invest in a better one.
Price: $240.00 Pros: Fast delivery (from a guy off E-Bay), tint looks nice and definitely looks better than the old dry rotted one it was replacing. Cons: Door skins don't fit under the lip of the roof
Rear driver side piece (between rear window and back window) doesn't fit. Recommended? No
Comments: I didn't have the money to buy a Best Top replacement and this truly is a case of you get what you pay for.
While everything was fairly easy to understand concerning the directions I ended up with two problems.
1) The door skins will not fit under the roof of the car when you try and shut the doors. The only way to get them to go under - and avoid being soaked if it rains - is to manually poke them and prod them to get them to fit.
2) The rear side piece that is attached to the roof (between the rear side window and the back window) is cut wrong and will not fit. I have tried pulling it in both directions to see if it will fit better one way or the other but it will not.
Other than that (and it may be just I got a "Friday afternoon" piece) the top looks great and was fairly easy to get to fit.
