Price: $831.00
Pros: Nice aggressive tread - good traction off road - quiet ride on road
Cons: Heavier than stock - gas mileage went down to 17.5 mpg
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I bought a set of General Grabber AT2, 285-75-16 from Big 10. Went to 16's from my original 17's. Paired the tires with a set of Mamba M-5's. The tires have a nice aggressive tread pattern for an all terrain tire. Price for purchase, installation of new wheels and tires, life-time rotation and balance, and installing Jeep valve-stems was $831 out the door. I have had the tires for two weeks now and have driven them about 500 miles. The biggest difference between these and stock are the ride on the road. They are not a noisy tire at all. They provide a much more comfortable ride than the stock tires did. Off the pavement they performed well for what I wanted them for. I do not climb rocks but once in awhile do come across some nasty mud looking for the right fishing spot. The tires handled mud just fine. The one thing I was the most pleased with was an area where we fish has a hill that is about 45 degrees and rather high (part of the dam). The stock tires would spin so I would have to take the hill on an angle. The new General Tires went staight up, no spinning. Do not expect your gas mileage to go up with these tires. My mileage went down about 1 - 1.5mpg. I would definitely recommend these tires.

Pros: Seem to be very similar to bfg a/t, if so then ill have no complaints
Cons: None just yet...
Recommended? Yes

Comments: The tires were very reasonably prices, and appear to have very similar characteristics to the BFG A/T. I have used BFG's in the past and they were great, but the Generals had a better price tag and I figured I would give them a shot. So far they have been great.

Price: $360.00
Pros: Cheap, lots of tread, slightly harder compound, comparable tread pattern to other popular AT tires.
Cons: None so far.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Only had these on my '93 ZJ for a few thousand miles so far but I'm pretty happy with them. I've never bought General tires before but was always curious about their Exclaim UHP's for my coupe (which wears pilot sports). I'm a stickler for tires so, even though my ZJ is mainly a winter beater and hauling mule, I decided to get it some new shoes to replace the Definity AT's I got it with.

The Definity's were a little worn but still had decent tread depth for what I use the Jeep for. Switching to the Grabber AT2's reduced road noise quite a bit. Dry traction on asphalt, concrete, and dirt roads was great. We recently had a pretty good snowfall in Chicago and these tires handled great (and I purposely aim for snow drifts on empty roads). Very happy so far. With the UTQG rating they have, they should last a while, too.

Price: $370.00
Pros: Cheap, comparable to BFG A/T, aggressive look, great traction on dry pavement/sand/snow/light mud, quiet
Cons: After about 30k miles the traction in rain/snow becomes laughable
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I've never bought anything from General before, but when it came time to replace the mismatched goodyears on my XJ I gave them a try. The price was only around $91 a tire at a VIP auto parts in New Hampshire, and the tread is very similar to the BFG a/t. Right away I was pleasantly surprised at just how quiet these tires are for a somewhat aggressive all-terrain, even on the highway. I've put about 40k miles on these tires, and though they still have a decent amount of tread left the wet traction has become downright scary in something as light as a cherokee. Trying to pull out quickly in the rain in a cherokee with an open differential just doesn't work, and my XJ also doesn't have ABS so the front wheels lock up very easily when it's wet.

Pros: Low Price
Cons: Slightly firmer ride. trouble balancing them out.

Comments: I bought these tires to replace the stock Goodyear GSA's after reading a review in the JP Magazine. The tread design is similar to the BF Goodrich T/A's.
The only problem I have had with these tires is that it took 3 times to get them balanced out properly.

Comments: These tires are very good for the money. they do very well off road. I took them on the Penns woods Jeep Jamboree and never got stuck and never took a bypass. They handled everything with ease, even mud. Very happy. they are very quiet on the road and handle well.
