Optima Red Top
Pros: Tough, long lasting, extra posts, and no leaking dangerous gas or corrosion buildup
Cons: A bit pricey
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I go nowhere without my Optima! I had my current battery in my 69 Mach 1, took it out to put it in my 2000 XJ, and then swapped it last year into my 98 TJ. Never had any problem.

Comments: I don't have the red top but i do have the yellow top not quite sure the difference in cca's and all but i do know that i haven't had any troubles with i've gone 60,000 miles in about a year or so and it still reads well over 13 volts Its a great battery little hurt in the pocket book but it makes up for it in time.

Optima Red Top
Pros: 3 YEAR WARRANTY! versatile mounting opions, great reserve power
Cons: none
Recommended? Yes

Comments: it's not cost effective to NOT buy this battery.... the 3 year warranty makes it the least expensive battery i've EVER purchased. make this the last battery you ever buy.

i can now leave my radio on all night while camping. I have left my low beams on for as long as 3 hours with no signs of battery drain when i went to crank it up the next day. how much longer i could leave them on is beyond me but i'm sure the battery would allow me another couple hours if need be.

after sitting for a year the battery wouldn't hold a charge and i got a new one free at advance auto parts no questions asked EVEN without a receipt. battery was 2.5 years old when this happened. the yellow top, though better for many applications, only carries a 1 year warranty.

Comments: Have one in my z71 and YJ, best starter battery you can buy. provides great power for start ups and can still handle my winch and extra lights.
