Price: $300.00 Pros: iPod compatibility, IMPRINT sound, UI, feature-filled Cons: iPod scrolling is buggier than older Alpine models Recommended? Yes
Comments: For most any vehicle, I would recommend the CDA-9887. It has basically every feature you could want from a head unit already baked in. Everything is, true to Alpine tradition, very well built and extremely rugged. I have put it through hell and back on the roads, trails, and in my driveway (dropping it multiple times on accident) and haven't had an issue to date. The only reason it is "good" and not "excellent" is because A) it has a proportional bass to sub adjustment where the audio controls make the bass output control the sub level. This is non-traditional and very annoying at times. and B) the iPod scrolling is buggier than an older model I had years back. It seems to have been less of a priority, and for someone like me with 15,000+ songs, that's a necessity. Overall, I love this head unit.
Price: $400.00 Pros: Sleek, easy to use. Multiple color scheme light options Cons: None Recommended? Yes
Comments: Ordered from carstereo.com, had professionally with ivault. Love it. Has capabilities to do all kinds of fancy stuff I can't even tell ya about.
