The CDA-9886 CD receiver furthers Alpine's top-notch reputation for excellent sound. Its strong internal amp delivers powerful output, and you can shape the sound with Bass Engine® sound controls — a 2-band parametric equalizer, plus a low-pass filter for your subwoofer. The stereo also features a high-pass filter that'll keep your full-range speakers clear by eliminating the low bass that they can't handle.

The 2-line BioLite display delivers text that's easy to read anywhere in the car. Alpine's included KCE-422i iPod® cable lets you connect your iPod and use the Percentage Search function to find your favorite songs fast — just tap the radio preset buttons to jump quickly through sections of your playlist. You'll also find a built-in USB input ready for your thumb drives or USB-equipped music players (except iPod).

Pros: Very easy to read Display IPOD Connection USB Input Black out feature
Cons: None
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I've had this unit for about 4months now, I absolutely love it. Plays everything I want it to play and how I want it played. Has a black out feature that completely blacks out the display and controls so at night if your like I am you can have the inside of your jeep pitch black with no annoying display or have to flip your display up and down.

Pros: Great interface, easy to use, tons of features and tons of accessories available
Cons: could use faster scrolling

Comments: I've owned a few Alpine head units over the years, but i have to say this is the best one so far. It has all the features you can ask for in a stereo and at an awesome price!

I have yet to find another stereo in the price bracket that has BT audio capability, yes, I am VERY pleased

Comments: Excellent head unit. Only thing I don't like is that with such a large screen you can't have the song and date time displayed at the same time. Also, takes the display a few seconds to refresh after turning up the sound or changing songs. Works great with iPod and that was my primary reason for buying it. Liked it much better than the Pioner head unit recommended on crutchfield.com. I tested both HUs at a local shop.

Got the HU cheap as I have a friend who used his discount to get it for me.

Comments: This is one of the most capable Head Units on the market. It is one of the nicest looking ones lit up, and is built by Alpine, a company who's reputation is built on quality.

This player is very easy to navigate. Basic controls include Bass, Treble, Sub Level and Fader controls for front, back, left and right. This also has Imprint technology, so you can unlock fine tune adjustments with the Imprint microphone to truly get a balanced sound system.

Beyond that, you can hook up an Ipod, USB thumb drive, CDs, HD radio, Sirius Satelite Radio and XM Radio.

The face is also removeable.

All in all, my only complaint is that taking the face on and off is kind of a pain to do everytime you get in and out of the jeep. I do it for security reasons, so it is optional. Other than that, I love this head unit. I have no restraints in my sound system, because this unit can do it all.
