Price: $75.00
Pros: small and easy to fit in a jeep
Cons: signal strength is not great but good for trail runs.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: for the size and cost I am VERY happy with this unit. Nice compact package with enough signal to keep in touch with people on the same trail.

Own 3 now and no issues with any, even the one that has been under the water a few times hehe.

Pros: Compact Size makes it easy to mount
Cons: none yet

Comments: Good CB for the money, Compact size allowed me to install it conveniently below my climate controls. It receives a lot better than the midland that I had with the same antenna setup. In my opinion well worth it.

Pros: ANL, Instant CH.9, Easy to read channel indicator, RF Gain, PA/EXT speaker support.
Cons: none at this time
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This is my first radio, I purchased this along with a Firestik II antenna. I did my research on this site and on the web determined where to mount the radio & antenna, followed the antenna tuning instructions all in all it was straight forward install, the tuning went well and using the radio will be very handy on trail runs. So far for a first radio I am more than happy with my purchase.

Pros: Good price, compact, poweful PA and speaker output.

Price: $69.00
Pros: small compact CB, easy to setup
Cons: no channel scan function
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Compact CB unit with reasonable sound but hey, it'S HF. Unfortunately CB seems to be pretty dead here in the Bay Area, even trucker are not on the band which brought me to make my HAM license. The CB is a "backup" for trail use with non-HAMs. Easy to setup and maintain. Missing a little bit a channel scan function. When installed in the footwell you would need an additional loudspeaker since it is hard to listen to when turned up fully. I have installed it on top of the dash where the sound is OK and loud enough to hear it while driving.

Price: $119.99
Pros: compact, easy to use controls
Cons: nothing apparent
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Upgraded to this from a Cobra handheld. Installation was very simple, as I just had a cigarette lighter plug added to the unit - to facilitate easy removal from my Jeep when I didn't need it. Used a Teraflex antenna bracket on the spare tire mount to mount a 4' Wilson flex antenna, and an 18' run of coax to the dash, just below the steering wheel. Ran my ground through the tailgate, then down behind the passenger taillight, to the frame. After getting the SWR adjusted, I was able to communicate up to approx 2 km away while wheeling in the Grande Cache area - which is very mountainous.
