Price: $50.00
Pros: small and compact
Cons: terrible range and noise regardless of squelch and RF settings
Recommended? No

Comments: I installed this where my cigarette lighter is suppose to be. It has some serious static issues and doesn't have the range I was expecting.

Price: $58.00
Pros: Small, Separate Squelch/RF gain, Easy to use
Cons: Channel knob skips sometimes, difficult to use at night
Recommended? Yes

Comments: If you're looking for an entry level CB that is small and simple but also has separate RF Gain and Squelch, then the Uniden Pro520xl might be for you. As a first time CB-er, I found this radio very simplistic and very easy to use. It's small size means you can fit it into tight places, and as such I chose to mount mine right under the dash to the right of the driver side. I enjoy a little more control so I like that I can keep my RF full blast and then adjust my Squelch a notch above background noise to get better reception. The Auto Noise Limiter does a decent job at cutting out some of the more annoying static and can be turned off anytime. The Emergency ch. 9 switch seems useful if your area actually uses CB's. There is an External Speaker output if you want to add a custom setup. PA is also available. My only gripe is that the knobs don't light up so you need to be a little familiar with it to use at night. The channel selector knob may skip a channel from time to time if you are trying to scan through so go slow. Otherwise, this is a great unit and I highly recommend it if you want something cheap with just enough features to be useful.

Price: $30.00
Pros: easy install
Cons: more info on tuning would be helpful
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Small, easy to mount discretely. You'll need an SWR meter to tune, this usually makes up the difference between more expensive models

Price: $50.00
Pros: Small, Has PA output
Cons: Can't hear at high way speeds, but an external speaker would fix that
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Install was easy, I ran the power to the battery. I haven't used it much beside talking to my buddies while driving. I use the PA from it very often, and haven't gotten into any trouble with it yet.

Price: $42.99
Pros: Inexpensive and easy to install. Holes on sides of radio to mount the mic clip
Cons: Display lights are a little dim in direct sunlight when installed overhead.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Radio came with everything it needed to do a basic install. Mic was fine for the price and the sound is crystal clear for my setup. I did like the option to put the mic clip on the sides of the unit but wish the holes were the same on both sides. Only the left side allowed the clip to be installed either up or sideways.

I installed this onto an Arizona Rocky Road CB Radio mount and since it is overhead, the sun glare obstructed the Channel Display so I had to put my hand over it to see what channel I was on. That is the only thing I did not care for but it is minor.

Installed with Firestik MU-8R18 Fire Ring Cable, Firestik K-4R Fire Ring Stud Mount, Firestik HD SS Spring, Firestik II 3' Red/White/Blue antenna, Quadratrac Rear Driver Stainless CB Antenna Mount and above mentioned ARR radio mount.
