Price: $10.00 Pros: Durable
Internals Easy to access and solder
H!gh wattage Cons: Currently has odd feedback on AM
Hard to Mount because of size
No longer manufactured Recommended? Yes
Comments: I love the giant fanless heatsink and all metal construction. This makes it very big and heavy, thus difficult to mount.
Once mounted the controls work as labeled and can be changed (within reason) based on comfort. The plastic nobs are the weakest point, literally, I have not yet been able to find a replacement but is cosmetic in function.
Internally, there are many points to fine tune this device but is far beyond the novice. Replacement of internals is fairly easy with well spaced parts, I have found that anyone with basic soldering skills could handle this.
I cannot comment on distance, my current antenna is not up to par with the device and need a willing participant for further testing.
I actually had not paid anything for it, but I like it enough to not want a new one.
