Pros: 55watts, solid rig! Can monitor Public service, maritime and weather
Cons: that heat sink will cook a thigh if you are on High power!

Comments: The 2100 has helped me more than I could write. It has been in daily use for 5 years! a 5/8 wave antenna will bring up repeaters 75 miles around!

Pros: Speaker on the bottom which is nice when you're mounting under a dash, and has a speaker output if you want to mount a satellite speaker. I like having three power modes as well, and the ability to change screen color.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I've had this radio since I was probably 15 years old. That is almost 10 years now and it works just as good today as it did when I got it. it has been through major northern Minnesota storms, lots of rag chewing while traveling, and never given me any issues. (knock on wood)

I like that I can change the background color, and I also really like having three power modes...that way I don't have to be blasting the front end of the repeater if I'm within close range, and it allows the unit to run cooler.

I feel that it could be a tad bit louder, but that's what the speaker out is for.

All in all, it is a great product. someday I'll likely upgrade to the newer models, but not until this one stops working(and I can't fix it).
