Price: $139.95
Pros: pa weather warning easy to read all of the front panel at night
Cons: big and hard to find a place to mount
Recommended? No

Comments: my first cb was the cobra 19 a basic no frills cb. after a while of having that i was looking to see what other radios and features were out there and the 29wx caught my eye. their have been a few times while driving that i have forgotten that the weather alert stays active even with the radio off and the alert has gone off and scared the "beep" out of me. with just flipping the switch on the radio from cb to wx i knew exactly what was going on. being that in the citys and highways i listen to mp3s or pandora from my phone that is why i ultimately upgraded and if i needed to i would buy the 29 again

Price: $110.00
Pros: Purchased in 2001, it worked very well for 5 or 6 yrs, then the faceplate lights went out, the signal strength remains good
Cons: Anything COBRA made after '95, made in China, sucks, no longevity,
Recommended? Yes

Comments: This was a great radio for the first 5 or 6 years. After that the lights on the face went out, signal strength is hit & miss, good wires, hook ups, antenna, good signal. Buy PRE-95 units.

Price: $60.00
Pros: Excellent Quality, Lots of Mods can be done, easy to install
Cons: N/A
Recommended? Yes

Comments: If you need a CB radio that is quality built then this is the one for you. Might be pricy compared to the Uniden brands but output on mic & speaker are great.
I was able to tune it quickly with no issues. (tuning will vary on location & person doing it but i personally did not have any trouble with it.)

Pros: Big enough speaker to hear with my top down and weather radio
Cons: No cons.

Comments: I bought this at a garage sale. After wiping the dust off of it, I hooked it up where my former Cb was (Uniden) and it worked great. has a good size speaker from factory where I can actually hear people talking with the top down.

Price: $125.00
Pros: - lots of controls - pretty sturdy - built-in swr meter for quick & dirty diagnosis
Cons: - very big - tough to find a good fit
Recommended? Yes

Comments: I mounted mine under the glovebox, but the size still prevents the passenger seat from shift ing forward to allow passengers in.

I consider it a good trade though. I like having an SWR meter "onboard" for when I'm away from home and have antenna issues. Having RF Gain control is great for my area (very populated and noisy with a lot of noise), and when I go more remote I can make it more sensitive.

Backlighting is a must for me, I drive at night often.

Price: $100.00
Pros: Small, and removable, weather bands
Cons: A little pricey, always returns to ch 9
Recommended? Yes

Comments: Seems to work as good as most CB's Ive used. The ability to get another remote box for it and use the cb in different vehicles is nice, eventually I will get one for use in my pickup. Some of the more advanced settings are sort of weird to figure out and use but the main functions are pretty easy. I wish it had the ability for a PA output as well.
