Comments: mine has a 10 turn clarifier with a superslider diode, channel guard,radio shack finals (45watts) sideband 22watts am , i also have fm installed,variable am and ssb power, echo board ,speach processor, a swing thing ,toilet bowl flush and a space cricket noise toy , ive talked to germany ,england ,austrailia, falkland islands , baffen bay north pole ,ireland, the cobra 148 has a better recieve then most ham radios , all of the contacts where made from my jeep using a wilson 1000 antenna . too bad they stopped making them .

Comments: Great old radio!! With a 104" fiberglass whip antenna, I can talk for miles!! The SSB isn't too bad, just like other SSB radios, it's a pain in the butt to tune in while on the road.
