Comments: I haven't had any issues with this winch. It pulls fine and is more than enough for light to moderate situations. Mine Gets wet a lot and has yet to fail me. Pulled a lot of wrecks. The only maintenance I've needed to perform was to pull a bad solenoid. Everything else is just making sure its properly lubed and your good to go. great product.

Comments: This winch is very good all around. Size wise...it is just right. 8000 lbs worth of pull, on a YJ, that's plenty. If you can find one...buy it. Even if you don't need it, buy it anyway.

The only thing I did not like about the X8000i was that integrated solenoid pack. I like to relocate the box to it keep out of harm's way. Easy to wire a remote winch control.

Also make sure that you have a very strong winch plate to mount to....in addition, make sure the frame bolts are not in bad shape of the front frame rails are not rusted. Mount it rock solid, if you don't...it will rip right off the frame.

Comments: Got this by luck. A Fire Chief I used to run with was upgrading fire trucks. They found it in a compartment and didn't see a need or use for it. I snatched it up cheap and had to order some missing parts. Cleaned her up and made sure everything worked. One week after I mounted and installed everything a friend got his F250 stuck in some mud. Just barely up to the axles but enough that he wasn't going anywhere. I didn't think my winch could handle it but I gave it a try. Pulled him and the lawn tractor he went in after out like they were on pavement. Amazing winch, I would have paid full price to own this thing I just got lucky.

Comments: I honestly dont think I could say anything about a Warn winch that hasnt already been said. Warn makes some of the best recovery winches on the market and has been a trusted brand name for many years. I think the newer style controlor recently released is more user friendly than the old one. There are some other pretty good brand winches out there and some probably cheaper than a Warn winch, but then you get what you pay for.
