Was aware when I purchased that I would need to order the solenoid mounting bracket separately; it should have been included. The mounting bracket is designed to be mounted with only one bolt. The single alen-head bolt that threads into the aluminum rod (that crosses the top of the winch) is what is used to hold this bracket. The problem arises when you tighten the bolt enough to keep the solenoid box from moving when plugging the cable in/out… is… you strip the aluminum threads. I solved the problem by installing GARDSERT threads in both side of the rod and then using grade 8 bolts to tighten. Warn could eliminate the issue by redesigning the mounting bracket to use two bolts, or using a better material in the rod.
I am happy with the product so far.

Comments: What can you say about a warn winch. You get what you pay for but you also pay a little extra for the name. They could do a better job making the control box waterproof and give us the D*** mounting hardware. Most of us know by now that you just use a U-bolt plate. I have they not figured that out.
