Yes, a 12,000# winch is WAY too much for just a Jeep. My winch is bolted to a moveable cradle mount that sees duty on the Jeep, my Dodge Ram 2500, and loading/unloading equipment on my trailer.

Comments: This winch works just fine for the money. I paid 499 for it at the Indy Jambo last year and only had to use it a couple of times...mostly to pull other people out. No problems pulling from deep mud.
