XJ Interior lighting

I just bought LED strip lights for my interior under my dashboards.

I wanna use the empty Switch on the dash to have control over them.

Does anyone know how to remove the faceplate for the head unit to get to these wires?

and how should I wire it to my battery?

The plastic bezel surrounding the stereo/ac controls/switches is held in by clips.
I grasp the bezel at the bottom corners, you can get your hands behind the plastic and yank towards you, it may take some effort. Also I find it easier to move the shifter into N or 1/2, to give you some more room.

The empty switch space is molded and can't be easily removed unless you drilled/cut it out. You may be able to fit a switch in ther, I'm not sure tho. The actual swith plate is attached with screws, thn unplug the switches from behind.

As for wiring, just wire it to a switch directly to the battery or at an empty fuse location. Best bet would to have a friend who knows a thing or two about wiring. While hard to do, its not impossible to do something wrong and find your jeep in flames. Always disconnect the battery when doing electrical.

the bezel pops right off, like cory said grab it by the bottom 2 corners and pop it off.
for the lights, run the positive wire on the lights to a toggle switch, then to the battery (dont forget to put in a fuse before the switch) and then ground the negative lead on the light to bare metal
