Cj wire harness new in old

I have a 78 CJ5 that I wanrt to replace the under dash harness.
What is the year range for a used harness that I can use?

Honestly, painless probably has a replacement product for that. I'd check there first before hunting for old stock wiring. Wiring doesn't get kept at a salvage yard (Accept for engine harnesses). That's where they make their money. They strip the vehicles, sell the parts, and reclaim the copper and other metals in the wiring. One standard vehicle has ~ $400-1k in just copper in the vehicle's wiring.

Plus, even if you found one, it would be old wire, hard and brittle anyhow. You're going to want a newly manufactured setup anyhow.

Yep - I figured that a new harness woudl be the best.
I will check with painless to see if they offer a partial harness.
