Wilson or Firestick II???
I am looking for opinions on which antenna is best? I am looking at getting a 4' tunable tip antenna. Right now I am leaning towards the Wilson as it seems better with regard powergain.
Just wanted opinions from users of each to help my decision. Thanks. ![]()

Wilson and Firestik are equal. Quality materials, construction, and durability. Get the cheaper one.
The so called power gain is the same for both.

In the 4' lenght you'd have to have your system really optimized and tuned to realize any benfit from the Wilson.
The Wilson is a slightly better product though.

If you go with firestick, dont get the Firestick II, get the Firestick Firefly. Its lighter and more flexible than the Firestick II, so it wont get damaged when you drive under things your antenna doesn't clear. Also, because of its light weight and flexibility it puts less stress on the mount. You can mount a 4' antenna on a mount that is only designed for a 3'.

cool thanks for the info guys! Looks like I'll go ahead and order the Wilson.
One more question: Should I order the flex antenna or the regular model and mount it on a spring base? Is there any advantages or disadvantage either way?...or should I get a fold down mount?

I would suggest a flex antenna with a fold down mount (not sure how rigid the non-flex wilson is). Even though the antenna can flex, you dont want to be driving though low clearance public garages whacking your antnna on every beam, and be able to park it in your garage at home. Check out my 'Cobra75' link in my sig for a foldover mount setup.

This is what I ordered. Since I only use my antenna when i'm wheeling, I can just pop it off in less than a second once I get off the trails. Well worth the $15 IMO.
