will I have enough air space?

I have built probably about 20 speaker boxes or so with exceptional results in all but one which will remain nameless. I just built one for my truck and screwed up the most important thing of all. air space. I dont know WHY in the world i didnt measure it to start with. anyways, I am wanting to run 2 kicker Comp VR 8's.

they require .4-1.8 ^ ft for a sealed enclosure. my box has .28 and I was wondering if I added a little polyfil if I could get it close to .4 or would it even sound decent be worth it? I am mainly wondering if I should just start looking for a different pair of 8's that handle around 200 watts RMS and require less air space? would these be better suited http://www.crutchfield.com/S-DYx7bfG5MFB/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=67500&id=features_and_specs&i=158XS L82 or is it so close (airs-pace requirement wise) that it wouldnt matter?

Well, poly fill isn't going to double the effective size of the box. However; the recommendations are also made for best overall results in quality and power. You can go outside those dimensions to push up one or the other. (smaller would be more spiked in responce.) So you can fill it with poly and then try it and see what you think of it. Since you already have the box built it won't hurt anything (as long as you don't push the sub into clipping and/or a poping state from too much box pressure). It may work just fine for you. And if not then at least you tried before spending more money. Kickers are notorious for wanting alot of volume to work well though. I'm not sure how they will do.
