Wierd CB problem

I am hoping that someone can explain this for me. I installed a Cobra CB a few weeks ago and a PA speaker under the hood just for fun. The other day I went out to get in my Jeep and I could hear a high pitched noise. I looked inside the Jeep and could see the CB indicator lights on. When I opened the door both the noise and the lights went out. I checked the power switch and it was off, but the PA was selected. Later in the day, it did it again in the garage. I switched it back from PA to CB and it hasn't done it since.

the only thing I can think of is a problem with the Cobra.
Is it new new?
Sounds like the power switch may be bad...

It is new, but it only does it when the switch is on PA. I am going to go into the garage and switch it to PA and see if it does it again. I am no electrical genius, and this may sound nutty, but is it possible that, now your gonna laugh, but could someone close by have transmitted and it went through the system?

Sure sounds like a problem with the CB itself since it was doing all that with the power switch off.
