If you really want that particular CB, I strongly recommend you also buy a small external communications speaker for it too. The speaker inside that particular CB's microphone is so small and tinny-sounding that it's hard to clearly hear it when you're driving in a Jeep which is an extra-noisy environment.

Very true. To the OP, checkout the writeup in my sig 'Cobra75'.

I've been away from this form for a while and noticed this thread. I think the Cobra 75sx is a good radio for casual use. However, if you're "hard-core" and need to communicate quite a bit (on/off the trail) then the Cobra 75sx may not be the right coice. The mic is a little heavy/bulky and the controls are a little limited. My use is pretty limited, so I feel it's the right choice.
I purchased the Cobra 75stx a while back and haven't regretted the decision. I mounted the "main" part of the radio under the "Passenger Airbag" switch (in the front of the center console) and (carefully) screwed it to the the tranny tunnel. I routed the antenna cable under the dash and then under the drivers side door, back to the tail-light mounted antenna. Next step was the mic. I purchased a Cell Phone mount for my TJ and screwed the mic clip to the mount.
I agree with previous posts that an external speaker would be a great benefit. But then, due to my wilder teenage years, I've lost hearing in my right ear, so any help I can get is appreciated.
I'll see if I can drum up some pictures of my install to post. I hope this helps.

I got mine for $100 shipped off ebay. I also did a write-up (link in sig), don't know how helpful it is though.
