Does anyone have a cool mounting spot for their CB? I don't know where to put it with the stick in the middle, and passenger side glove compartment is just too far. It just doesn't seem like it can go anywhere except the underside of the roof. Pics would be nice.

I was thinking about this the other day.. One location on mine was between the seats facing up, or zip tied to the roll bar between the seats for weekend trips. Wires might get in the way though..
I'd also like to hear about some good spots too..

I've got mine mounted in the same spot, just rotated 90 degrees. The only thing I don't like about it being there is that the passenger seat hit it when I tilt/slide it forward. Other than that, it's a prefectly good spot.
I used to have it on the driver's side, which I liked a little better, but it has since been displaced by the OX shifter.
EDIT: By the way, that was me on 17S the other day.

I bought some 1" aluminum angle material from the local hardware store and attached my CB to the plastic molding, just above the inside rear view mirror. Routed all the wiring under the plastic trim on the windshield. Out of the way, easy to reach and you can hear the stock speaker when you're going down the highway.

A common spot is next to the Tcase shifter on the side as far forward as possible.
If you haven't bought a CB yet, I'd recomend getting the Cobra75wx so you don't need to worry about the space for a mounting location. Thats what I have and will be installing this weekend.

Have mine set up like TOMGPDX; I know it's difficult to see, but it's right above rear view mirror. It's a small RadioShack CB, similar to the Uniden 510, so it's nice and compact.

CB under a shelf in the back
I took out the back seat and put in a wide shelf the full width of the back of my 05. I put gear on top of the shelf and a cooler and more gear under it. I mounted my CB under that shelf between the seats. It's a bit of a pain to fine tune because it's behind me but it's out of the way and once it's set up, it's easy to use.

I put my CB on the back side of the console. No muss, no fuss. Ran the wires between the passenger seat and the console up to the aux plug for power. Mounted the magnetic antenna on the LF fender, with the lead coming back under the hood and down the firewall under the driver floorboard and then up through a rubber drain plug, under the driver seat back to the CB unit itself. Very sanitary install and works good. Not real fond of the magnetic antenna on the LF fender, but getting used to it. Did the same thing on my old YJ and it worked for 10 years. Problem with mounting the antenna anywhere else if it is close to the Jeep body (as on the rear bumper or whatever) then the body absorbs all the transmitting energy and only vehicles behind you can hear you. Up on the LF fender it seems to work ok.

winch controller plug and cb where the radio used to be...
in my yj...
radio shack external speaker mounted where the parking brake pedal used to be.
you can hear it from 100+ feet away with the volume up... and you can easily hear it as the boggers humm @ 60mph on the hwy with no doors or top.
