What will your Amp be running.. Subs? Speakers?
I Made a custom box for my wrangler. It sits behind the rear seat.
The Subs sit up, with a shelf on the bottom where the amp sits... Protected from everything, not visible from the outside. My box looks like a Lockbox from a distance and through the window....

Just speakers for now. I use my lockable trunk all the time so I don't want to tie up the space.

under your rear seat, thats where i had mine, but beware of mudding with no top & doors, or deep watercrossings , they will fry

try the overhead console from Tuffy ?< forget the name of the Co> put it in there along with the Stereo plus your Cb atleast this way if you have a Bikini top on it would be hard as h*ll to get anything wet

I'd owned a 90 YJ and mounted it underneath the seat as well. But I had a big heavy one and that was basically my only choice. I did have problems with overheating at first too, but seeing how I was working at an electronics store at the time, I bought a better amp, and didn't have any problems. If it fits well on the firewall, go for it! I had a few holes here and there however on my firewall, so make sure its watertight.
