wHATS UP WITH STOCK STEREO?

My 2001 Stock cd player in my tj has some sort of sound govenor.....if i turn it up too loud it turns itself down a little.....when I'm listening to a song and turn up the bass....it lowers the sound volume a little.....is this a "watts per channel" issue.....this stereo really sucks.....I want to be able to turn my volume up as loud as I want too....I have added new 6.5" Rockford's to my sound bar and I can not tell a difference!!!!

Thats a stock attenuater thats built into the radio. It helps to not blow the crappy stock speakers. Add a amp or replace the radio.

I'll tell you what I did. I purchased a pioneer deh-p77dh radio/ cd player. It's called a din and 1/2 size and fits perfect in the jeep, no spacers or brackets needed. Then I turned around and sold my stock radio/cd player on EBay and got just about as much for it as I paid for the new unit. Of course, I installed it myself and I shopped on the internet for the best price, those two things saved me quite a bit of money as well. Hopes this helps.
