waterproofing stereo

2 things

any good ideas on waterproofing a stereo while washing out the inside of a jeep with a hose. mine always seems to get wet and temporarily malfunctions.

second: any ideas on how to stop the water from coming in thru the air intake grill on top of the hood just under the windsheild. i always seem to get water coming thru there also.
thanks cajun

i know that some boats have plastic shields that go over the front of the radio. you could go to a boating store to see if they sell them. Then just screw/glue it up and have a little plastic shield for the front of it.

Has the cowl screen been removed from the passenger side?
The sreen is there to prevent water from entering into the vent system and end up in the interior.

I got the same problem with my cowl. I don't have carpet and my drain plugs are pulled so I don't mind it much, I just don't like getting my shoes soaked every time I take a corner after rain or wash. What do you mean by cowl screen? I guess I need one. Thanks.
