A few years ago I tried mounting a camera on my street bike and found that you need some sort of dampening. You could use some small shocks mounted in a cross pattern with the camera in the middle, or some vertical and horizontal swing-arms using some screen door dampers. There are lots of ways. You could also make a sort of steady cam if your willing to have a heavy mount with a couple of motors spinning some balanced weights acting as gyros. You could also mount it very snug to the chassis and let the jeeps shocks try to obsorb the vibration, but it's only as good as the little 1/4-20 mounting screw on the tripod mount. Just some ideas.
