Upgrading speakers in 2000 Cherokee Sport XJ

I'm looking to upgrade the speakers in my 2000 XJ...what size are they?

Also, any suggestions on a decent replacement? Not looking to spend a lot at all, just a decent upgrade.

Thanks!

Hmmm there are so many brands to choose from
Personally for a 5 1/4
I would go with Sony XPlod or some Pioneer

All of them? There are just two sets right? Front doors and rear deck, correct?

Thanks!

Yup all four speaker are the same size, with a little modification you can fit some 6 1/2 's in the back

Will the 6x9's give better sound in there?

You can fit 6.5" all around if you get speakers that are not too deep.

Yes, even in the doors. I will tell you that if the speaker is 2 3/4" deep or deeper you will have to make spacers for it to fit but it will still fit. If you get regular speakers from bestbuy you shouldn't have to worry too much about depth, the ones I had that were too deep were focals. You can use the plastic frame for the speaker grill as a spacer if you spend some time shaping it with a dremel.

Bump for an answer to this. Is 6.5 that much better than 5.25?
