Trunk Sub Options?
Guys-
Been a while since I have been on here. Anyways I have a 99 TJ and I have a locking trunk on my Jeep. Its simply a metal shell that fits tightly to the trunk area, made by Tuffy I believe. Anyways I have a 10" Kicker sub and and a Jensen amp to run to the trunk. Do any of you guys have any plans or designs for what the box should look like? I plan on having a down firing box back there and I am thinking of mounting the amp onto the side or top of the box. What are you guys thoughts or any design input you may have?? Thanks all!

Yeah Mightydog I am definetely not looking at tearing my back seat up at all and Im aware that this will limit my options. I have seen the back seat subs and speakers before and they look pretty sweet but also by doing this i loose all security from the locking trunk

Is there a gap or does the metal go all the way to the floor? typical behind the seat subwoofers are downfiring and a gap is left so that the box has an opening toward the front of the Jeep. If you don't have a gap then the sub will sound like it's in a tin can. Basically you'll want to measure the inside angles of your secure trunk and build a box from MDF. Take a look at just4effect.com and you'll get an idea of the set-up for these kind of enclosures.
