Think this is enough space for an amp...

I was thinking about adding two small 12 dc fans to the heat sink, so when the remote sends 12v it will turn on the fans. Seat doesnt flex at all with my 230lbs kneeling on the direct center, if need be I can raise it 1.6"s with alum. block I found online.

I used to have one there. It depends on how much airspace the amp needs around it to function properly. Not ideal if you ever need to put anything there. I took it out and replaced it with an Alpine PDX Digital amplifier. It doesn't get hot at all and they are very compact. I moved mine to the bottom of the center console (inserted from the bottom) Nobody even knows it is there

Space depends on how hot the amp gets...not all heatsinks are created equally so some amps get warmer than others. I have my amps under the rear seat...most of us do...you should be fine with yours there too.

Make sure you mount it to the floor securely (be careful when you drill to check below the floor first) so that it doesn't come flying from under the seat during a quick stop.

Actually yesterday I was on the highway...wish I had a camera with me...there was a 10" subwoofer enclosure smashed on the side of the highway (in an area where people love to cut you off to make the exit; quick stops are common)...I can only imagine that came flying out of the back of a Jeep or 4Runner or something. Glad I wasn't the car behind it!

yeah the thing is pretty snug under there. I was going to mount it to a thin peice of waterproofed plywood then mount it to the board. The amp really doesnt get too warm but I may add fans in the future. Thanks guys
