taurus fan install-switching ground?
ok, i am installing a taurus fan in my YJ. i am leaning toward wiring such that the ground leg is switched. i think the positive legs are shorter that way and grounds can be found everywhere. are there any disadvantages to doing it this way?
TIA- chuck

Power would always be going through the relay and switch just waiting to be grounded. This could be a problem if something shorts where the other way the switch would have stopped it. However, it should function either way as long as it's wired to the relay properly. However that way the positive legs are the longest. Just FYI. Wiring it with a switched 12V makes it a shortest 12V leg.

never thought of it that way!..thanks. switching the 12v means that the power stops at the switch until it closes, then the whole line is hot. decisions, decisions.
