Sunroof issue

So it's been pretty nice here the last few weeks in PA and with that weather comes rolled down windows and sunroofs. So since I have had my ZJ(just bought it in February) When I open my sunroof then try to close it it 90% of the time won't close. So is this a fuse issue, a loose wire somewhere or what? It's driving me crazy trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance for helping me with this problem.

Well, with what you've supplied as troubleshooting information, it's impossible to say. Have you checked the fuse? Does the fuse blow? Is there any noise or just nothing at all? Have you tested the switch and continuity to the motor? Is the track just dirty and sticking? What do you do that does make it close?

Could be any number of different things...

I would check your fuses anytime there's an electrical problem, But the fact that it attempts to close at all means its probably not the fuse.

I don't know if the motor is 2 pin or 3 pin, if you have a service manual you could check.

2pin means more than likely switch.
3pin could be switch or a bad wire/connection.

Some sun/moonroofs have a stopper switch to prevent you from pushing the motor into a closed roof, which could also be bad.

These are just general speculation, I'm not certain on the specific setup in a ZJ
