Stock Subwoofer replacement Found!!

I have been searching for a stock replacement woofer for my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I wanted to keep the wiring and stock amp. Kicker now has a new 6.5 Comp VT shallow Sub out in both 2 ohm and 4. I went with the 2 ohm, minor mod of the interior sub plastic enclosure. Took about an hour all together. Hits much better then stock, while still maintaining stock appearance. Sub was $99.

Where did you get it at? I blew my factory sub long time ago and haven't been able to find any 6.5" subs to replace it with. Do you have any pics?

I found this one which is about.... 10x cheaper Its prob. 100x better than the stock one. Prob. not as good as the kicker ( 99.9% sure on that one ), but its less than 3 gallons of gas, should fit, and will prob. be happier with the stock amps power level.

Plus... Its $10 Get two and give it to a jeep buddy for X-mas.

No, the stock amp has four wires going to stock sub. 2 hot and 2 ground, I took both and soldered them together and hooked them up to the single hot and ground leads into the comp VT. No additional amp.

Granted a seperate amp would probably sound even better but the stock amp and Comp VT are night and day compared to the stock sub and good enough for my needs.

I'm thinking about putting a 8" in there, do you remember how much width there was with the stock sub/amp removed? The woofer I am looking at is about 4.25" deep

Is the stock amp 2ohm stable ? Is it wired parallel or series on the stock sub ?

The stock sub runs at 2-Ohm from what I've read.

your stock amp doesn't put out nearly enough wattage for that sub. Maybe half of what it should be receiving, at best.
