stock CD player might be on its last leg
I have a 2003 TJ and I still have the stock stereo in it. A few weeks ago when I turned the Jeep off the stereo made this tapping/grinding noise for a few seconds then it stopped. When I turned the Jeep back on it did it again and then started playing the CD just fine. It didn't do it again for about a month but it did it again last night. Is there a quick fix that'll stop the noise?
The stereo has never gotten wet from going wheeling or rain, but I don't doubt that condensation has occurred inside the unit. Other than the normal bouncing and jolting that happens when you go wheeling it's never been beaten on. It seems to be an occasional thing and maybe the unit is just being temperamental. I just don't like the noise that its making. Any help?
