Stereo Settings
I know almost nothing about the settings on my CD Player.
I know what treble and bass are, that's about where it ends. My alpine has all these "filter" settings for treble (like 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, etc) and I have no idea what these do. I assume they only let sound that is above or below a ceratin level through or something. Bass also has settings (60, 80, 100, 120 or something like that) and I don't know what those do either. Can anybody tell me what these settings do? I have a band pass that takes care of the bass so I'd rather have only high end and mid range coming out the regular speakers. I know I should just read the manual or something but they only tell you how to adjust the settings, not what they do.

You are right they do have to do with the level ( frequency ) of what is going to come out of the speakers. You can read up on it at Crutchfield.com and many other audio sites. But when it comes right down to it it is all personal preference so I would say screw around with it and see what sound you like the best.
