Stereo - GC 2001 Limted. Can You Help?

I received a Stereo from a friend who's Grand Cherokee is going to be donated! It is a aftermarket Pioneer Head unit pretty basic. The weird part is I removed the stock stereo from my Jeep 2001 GC Limited and there are a ton of cords one is a cable for the 10 CD changer in the rear (which I wont use) another is obviously the antenna, then there are two that contain the multicolored cords and one that I believe, from my research, is required for the steering wheel controls! My Question is.. If I simply match up the colored cords with the new radio will it work appropriately. (Forgot to mention I do have the Infinity Gold package with the Stock amplifier in rear passenger seat) or should I have some audio shop do it? Has anyone encountered this issue before?
