You didn't have to do anything to the inside of the dash?

From the pictures it looks like the radio is mounted to the dash bezel am i right in that it is not mounted to the dashboard itself or are there brackets that mount the radio to the jeep and then you put the dashboard peice over the radio and it snaps in place. I am about to start an install of a double din unit in my TJ and am looking for as much info as possible. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks

It's just mounted to the bezel itself with some brackets.

UPDATE!

I get bored pretty easily, so I felt it was time to change things up. The Kenwood headunit was pulled and sold to a friend. I decided a while back that I wanted to build a carputer or put a tablet in the dash. For a number of reasons, I settled on the carputer. I've been gathering all of the parts over the last few months and finally have just about everything I need. First order of business was getting the Lilliput EBY-701 touch screen monitor to fit. It comes in a double din trim ring, but still required a bit of trimming to get it to fit in my dash. Height was spot on, but width was a bit too narrow. Nothing a dremel, some fiberglass, bondo and lots of sanding couldn't handle! I'll keep this thread updated if there's any interest.

you wanna fab one and mail it to me? I have a similar kenowood unit that looked great it my explorer, before I traded it in for the 2005 wrangler... you didn't have any issues with the trim console supporting all the weight now? I haven't had the jeep long enough to tear apart the dash yet. But I figured someone on here made a DD fit into the 1 1/2 in the tj's... it looks good

I'd love to. I've gotten a ton of requests, but once people find out that I'm not willing to do it for 20 bucks, they back out. I have about 8-10 hours of sanding and fiberglass work into mine. If you're seriously interested, PM me. I had no issues with it supporting the weight.
