Speakers / old radio

I tried to search for an answer first: I have a 2001 wrangler sport. I want to keep the original radio/CD player, which I like a lot. I want to add all new speakers, nothing fancy, will it work? Or will I have to add a new player and amp?

As long as you can find speakers that will fit and are of the same rating as the factory ones ( 4 or 8 ohm) you will be fine. Pull one of your old speakers and see what it says on the back of it.
