I got a 2 channel Monster RCA 6M length (sub specific rca, XLN line as well) from procura.com for $62 I paid extra for shipping, i think ground shipping (state side) was only like $7
HOW CRAP! that seems insane to me for RCA cables. Monaster is just a name. good quality cables are one thing but........dang!

next time you need good quality cables, check out www.monoprice.com

i do some home theater installs and i buy all my cables from them. its about impossible to beat their prices. they have great products and really stand behind them.

OK guys two quick questions

1) I passed by Ace Hardware to get polyfill they didn't have any, they actually didn't know what polyfill was so my question is can I just get a roll of cotton from the pharmacy and use that?

2) I need to drill holes for the screws, I have never drilled into metal just concrete and thats different since with concrete I put a plastic thing into the hole which the screw screws into. How does it work with metal, I am guessing just a hole and the screw goes right into it but how do I know how big to make the hole? Is it slightly smaller then the screw,
slightly larger? same size? I really don't want to experiment because I really dont want to make more holes then I need to.

It's pillow stuffing. Not just cotton but a mix of different materials. Cotton alone will help but not quite the same as polyfill. Walmarts has it by the jumbo bag for like $4 in the sewing section.

Use a bit just smaller than the shaft of the screw. Pretty simple.

I didnt by it for the name. While monster and JL are both big names, they are both good quality products. The monsters i bought because of the size of the cable and the way the ends are. It is a 4channel cable and most other 4 channel cables i could find had some big bulge of rubber/material where the 4 cables branched off on the ends and i figured that would be hard to fish through the places i am taking it. I was going to buy the 6ch but i have two amp with the rcas, while close, a good distance away from each other the way i am going to mount them.

The JL wiring kit, i bought it because i have held the wires before and they are super flexible, especially the 4awg wire. While i have used kicker and some other wires before and liked them, i found a decent deal on the JL. If i can find a product less than half of msrp and slightly more than another product of lesser quality, i tend to buy it.

well being a victim of stolen stereo stuff before i am very concerned as to were i put my equipment. when i bought my jeep it came with a rear lock box and i am gonna incorperate that into my woofer and amp design. as for mounting any equip to the floor i would be carefull. i own a 2000 TJ with a hardtop(also have a softtop) and well. she likes to leak a lil. so damp carpets are no stranger here. that and the jeep seems to be attracted to deep water crossings the rear seat makes a great place to mount gear. it tumbles forward and has about 4-5" of clearance under it. so i mounted a sheet of 1/2" ply underneath the seat. i pulled the seat covers off and mounted the ply right to the frame. put the cover back on and now you have a sloid surface to mount amps, wires, crossovers ect. worked well for me and keeps it all out harms way and theives eyes.

Well since I live in Kuwait where temperatures easily soar past 122F I don't know how the amp would hold out being stuffed inside the rear seat...

I think he just bolted the wood to the frame, cover it back up so it looks good and bolted the amps to it. But some still say that there is not sufficient airflow for amps...and they would be mounted upside down.

I live in Texas... It's not far from that temperature. Most important is airflow around the amp. but ya, stuffing it into something is probably not your best option. But under a seat or in an insta-trunk would be fine.

My speakers and cables arrived today, they look great. I think will do the installation over the weekend. One thing that freaked me out a bit is the amp cable, its pretty thick! I didn't expect it to be like this, looks scary lol
