oh, ok, that makes sense now.

Looks like your design is pretty good.

Just make sure you run the power on one side of the vehicle, and the RCAs on the other side. might even do the same with the speaker wire if you can.

thats how i've laid it out except i have one speaker wire, rear left going along the same line as power cable so i might just take it down the middle like i did with rear right speaker and then make it take a left.

for the pods, does the speaker cable run through the rollbar or outside it but under the black cover?

I'm planning on running mine up the bar under the padding, and then connecting it to the rollbar. The pods have holes in them facing the follbar for wires.

Fill them with some polyfill while you're at it.

if you use quality wire and RCA's you should be fine running them together. in all the years i have been doing installs i have only had a problem in 2 cars, both of which were brought to me to be fixed because the audo shop that did the install used the cheapest crap they could find and charged a mint for it.

Ok just an update, I received my AMP today and it looks great.

Now problem is I took a look under the driver seat and I don't think it will fit. My driver seat is the kinda that folds to the front (like the passenger side) and there isn't enough room underneath for the amp. So I have a couple of scenarios:

1) Remove the seat and try to dismantle the mechanism that folds the seat forward and hopefully have enough room for my amp

2) Mount the place somewhere else, don't know where yet

3) The BassLink II currently comes with a free thingie that turns the BassLink into a 4 channel amp pumping out 35 watts per channel. It usually costs an extra 200$ but crutchfield have an offer where they include it for free. I could use that to power my speakers and sell my alpine amp to someone else. Problem is my speakers are 50watt and I was underpowering them with the alpine amp (40 watt) and now to under power them further with 35 watts isn't good news. And I doubt the BassLink would be able to offer proper 35 watts.

You need to get the non-tilt/fold risers for the seat. Standard TJ seat risers should be easily available at the salvage yard. Newer ones don't use the fold on the driver's side or you can actually order the proper set; I think the set I ordered was for an 98TJ. Though ~ $40 each that way... Salvage yard should be simple to do.

I went back down to my jeep, this is frustrating, I think i just realized how tiny a wrangler is, there is like no room for an amp!

I am positive now it wont fit under my front seat so i looked for a different location to mount the amp.

I found two potential spots. First one is on the rear door, this would keep the space in my trunk and be out of the way. potential problems i see is

a) the opening and closing of the trunk is aggressive and could knock the amp out of place

b) the power and audio cables would be touching each other which everyone says they shouldnt.

The second location I found is behind the rear seat, potential problems i see:

a) I don't know if there is room because if you notice on the bottom left of the amp there is that metal hook like thing, i guess i have to remove it. On the right of the amp I am going to be installing the BassLink so there might not be room unless i move the amp further left.

b) my dog will be getting in and out of the jeep from the rear, with the basslink on the right and the amp on the left he will be jumping on/over the amp to get in. I would also be worried about him drooling over the amp but i guess i could cover it with a towel before he gets in.

Anyone got any better mounting locations?

I ordered them from a dealership but that's the expensive route to go. Salvage yards should have a bunch of them if they didn't scrap em all. Make a few calls and I'll bet you'll find a set.

I live in Kuwait and have never been to a junk yard before. I wouldn't mind paying $40, will check with my dealership here tomorrow. I checked ebay and couldnt find anything.

I called the dealer and asked for a seat bracket. Told me it would cost around $700 because it comes as "full set". I told him I have the seat and i have the car i just need the thing that connects the two together. I don't think he knew what he was talking about.

Anyway spoke to a friend, I am going to a junkyard this weekend.

Do you always have your seat in? If so, that gives you more options.

Personally, I'd build a very small metal covering for the amp, tie it down to those brackets behind the seat (that stick up next to the tailgate in one of your pictures). That would guard it from theft, be somewhat water repelent, allow the dog or other things to be stacked on it. That sort of thing.

This is exactly the reason I'm building my sub enclosure to have amp racks.

Good luck!

oh yeah, thank you for posting pics. this is one of the amps I am considering for my system. It's good to see how small it is, your pics put that in perspective. Especially the behind the seat pic, that does help quite a bit.

Thanks!
