Sound system advice wanted

01' TJ Sport soft-top

Most of my driving is on freeways sometimes with the top fully down other times top up and windows out. What should I put in that will allow me to hear what is being played clearly and do I really need an amp and what about the factory sub-wolfer?

I just put in a 2 din 7" touchscreen head unit Polk audio 5.25 in my sound bar over head and bought adapters for 4x6s in the dash and mounted a slim built 10" subwoofer enclosure onto my swinggate, drive on the freeway/ highway everyday with no problems hearing anything top on and off

If it's words you want to hear on the highway then you want to add an amp and speakers that can handle the amp's power, if it's bass you're missing (when you turn the volume up) then you want to add a subwoofer. A clean source signal (new headunit) will make even the muddiest speakers sound "better" because you'll have greater clarity at higher volumes.

iPhone app user; excuse typos...thanx.
