SirGCal under (not in) seat sub box.

Well Chris didn't reply to my PM so I'll just post here. I'm sure it's been discussed before.

I plan on installing two 10" RockFord Fosgate P3SD4, shallow mounts, with a R750-1D amp. My question is, could I build a box to his specs and put it under the seat instead of in it? I know I would have to raise the seat mounts about 1" to fit but I'm just wondering if there would be any issues. I really just don't want to cut my seat and I would have no problem raising it a bit because I rarely carry around people. I really want to keep the ability to fold and remove the rear seat hence why I don't want a in seat sub.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

i don't think there's any way to fit 2 10's under the seat let alone having the right internal volume for the enclosure. I'm sure you've looked at plenty of pictures so far but here's how big mine is with two shallow mount 8's

Is your box height 3.5" or 4.75"? I think I could easily fit this box under there if I raised the seat a bit.

What year is your jeep? It'll depend on what seat you have. The more shallow early wrangler seat can easily be remounted from the floor to the top of an enclosure. The spring loaded (handle in the seat back later TJs) seat sits higher on metal runners. You wouldn't be able to have a very high enclosure (not enough airspace) and still have the seat in a normal position.

3.5 but you have to add a bit for how much the subs hang out too. Could work, I've just never seen it done. It's not that bad gutting the seat. And if you screw up or want to take it out later there's always Craigslist. Seen seats go for 75 bucks.

It's a process to see the profile on the iPhone app and you don't see the sig.

With a 98 as I mentioned above I would pull the mounts from the floor, build the enclosure, then reinstall the mounts on top of the box. The seat will be higher but probably still usable. You may be able to use the original seat mount holes in the floor to secure the box depending on dimensions/who builds it.
