Signal Light/Brake Lights Not Working

Electrical issues freak me out. I was recently into the steering column to change my cancelling cam. Got it all back together and my signal lights and brake lights aren't working. The only time the tail lights will light up is if I turn on the headlight/parking/marker light switch on. What have I done?

Can anyone help me out with some simple checks to do? Is it likely I did something within the steering column? or is it more likely to be under the dash?

Please advise.

Thanks....

Randy (new owner of a 1984 CJ7)

Obviously something is amiss. I'd first re-do everything, double-check what was removed and where it should be. Something might just not have been put in properly.

Check the lower column connection just under the dash.

So far I've checked the fuse, the signal light wiring harness at lower column connection. Nothing seems to be a miss. The cancelling cam I'm installed seems to be working great. Is there something in back of the locking plate that could cause this problem?
