heres my alpine. Its the highest end one they had when i bought it. they dont make this one anymore but they do have the newer model that is just like it. i have the ipod cable ran into my glovebox and it lets you control the whole ipod from the deck itself. it sounds great and has many things you can expand on like bluetooth and satellite radio.

I have owned absolutely every brand mentioned on this thread and have been into car audio for many years. I will have to say that durability wise, you cant beat the Alpine. Only brands I would ever consider are Alpine, Eclipse, Nakamichi, and Pioneer. Kenwoods suck.

I thought the same thing !!! Like it was a sound system make-over!

That is the reason why I won't go crazy on a sound system in my Jeep. A soft top has as much security as a camping site tent.

Some crackhead was kind enough to remove my Alpine CDA-9805 for me

Liberty Mutual was kind enough to install a CDA-9884 in its place

Yup. They went through glass to get his unit. That's why you always pop the face off, and stick it in a tuffy container or something similar. Something made out of steel.

If anyone is going to get to my gear, they're going to go through hell and a lot of work to get it. Tuffy is next on the list after my audio upgrade.

Yeah, I always take the faceplate off of my new one now. It was just a crackhead looking for some quick cash to fund his next score, I'm sure. He didn't touch my XM radio or my CB radio that were in plain site or my GPS that was in the glovebox. He just saw the Alpine and took off with it.
